Telehealth Psychiatry in New Jersey & New York
Secure video visits with Dr. Egenburg for adults in New Jersey and New York — the same physician-led care, from wherever you are.
The short answer
Momentum Modern Psychiatry offers telehealth psychiatry with Dr. Deanna Egenburg for adults located in New Jersey or New York, through secure, HIPAA-compliant video when clinically appropriate. New Jersey patients can also be seen in person at the Marlboro office; New York patients are seen by telehealth only. You can start with a free, no-obligation consultation.
Who telehealth is for
Telehealth psychiatry is available to adults who are physically located in New Jersey or New York at the time of each visit. That requirement comes from state licensing rules: what matters is where you are during the appointment, not where you live or work.
It's a good fit if you have a demanding schedule, commute, travel between the two states, or simply prefer the privacy of a visit from home. It's the same care — same psychiatrist, same unhurried approach — delivered by video.
New Jersey: in person or by telehealth
Adults in New Jersey can choose between in-person visits at the Marlboro Township office (479 CR-520, Suite B201, in the Regus professional building) and telehealth. Many patients combine the two — for example, an in-person evaluation followed by video follow-ups when that works clinically.
Because the office is in Monmouth County, telehealth is especially helpful for New Jersey patients who live farther away and would otherwise face a long drive for each follow-up.
New York: telehealth only
Momentum does not have a New York office. Adults located in New York are seen exclusively through secure video visits with Dr. Egenburg. You'll receive the same comprehensive evaluation, medication management, and continuity of care as in-person patients.
Your first visit
The 60-minute comprehensive evaluation is preferably conducted in person, because meeting face to face gives the fullest picture at the start of care. When that isn't practical — or for patients in New York — the evaluation can be done by telehealth when clinically appropriate.
Your free consultation is the right time to talk through which format makes sense for you.
Privacy, technology, and what you need
Visits take place over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You'll need:
- A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone
- A reliable internet connection
- A private, quiet space where you can speak freely
- To be physically located in New Jersey or New York during the visit
Is telehealth right for you?
Telehealth works well for many adults, particularly for follow-up visits once a treatment plan is established. It may be less suitable if you don't have a private space to talk, if your symptoms are severe or changing quickly, or if Dr. Egenburg needs to see you in person for clinical reasons.
You don't have to choose once and for all. New Jersey patients can move between in-person and video visits as their needs and schedules change, and Dr. Egenburg will let you know if an in-person visit is recommended.
Medications and telehealth
Many psychiatric medications can be managed through telehealth. Prescribing decisions, including for controlled medications such as some ADHD treatments, follow applicable federal and state rules, which can change. Some treatment plans may require periodic in-person visits. Dr. Egenburg will explain what applies to your situation.
Telehealth is not appropriate for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
