Psychiatric care for New Yorkers, by video
Finding a psychiatrist in New York can mean long waits, high-volume clinics, or providers who don't have time to really listen. Momentum offers New York adults an alternative: physician-led care with Dr. Egenburg, delivered through secure video, with longer visits and genuine continuity.
Telehealth works well for busy professionals — you can meet from home or a private office, without adding a commute to your day.
Telehealth only — here's what that means
Momentum's only office is in Marlboro Township, New Jersey. For patients in New York, all visits are conducted by telehealth. You must be physically located in New York (or New Jersey) at the time of each appointment, because psychiatric care is governed by the licensing rules of the state where the patient is during the visit.
If you live in New York but work or spend time in New Jersey, you may also be able to see Dr. Egenburg in person at the Marlboro office.
What care looks like
Your first clinical visit is a 60-minute comprehensive psychiatric evaluation by video, reviewing your psychiatric, medical, family, and psychosocial history. From there, follow-up medication management visits are 30 minutes. Most patients are seen monthly, and all patients at least once every three months.
Medications and telehealth rules
Many psychiatric medications can be managed by telehealth. Prescribing decisions for controlled medications, including some ADHD treatments, follow federal and state rules, which may require in-person visits. Dr. Egenburg will explain what applies to your situation before you begin treatment.
Making video visits work for you
A good telehealth visit starts with a private, quiet space where you can speak freely, a device with a camera and microphone, and a reliable internet connection. Many patients use a home office, a parked car, or a closed conference room.
Visits run on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, and scheduling, records, and payments are handled through secure systems as well. Wednesday and Thursday appointments are available until 9 PM, which can make it easier to fit care around a demanding workday.
